Assistant Professor of Business Analytics/Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY: The Francis J. Noonan School of Business at Loras College invites applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Business Analytics, available August 2021. The position will also serve as the Director of the Graduate and Undergraduate Program in Analytics. The usual teaching load is 21 hours/credits per academic year with the likelihood of course load reduction for the Director role. Courses taught will depend on the candidate’s areas of expertise, as well as School and college needs. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in Analytics teaching courses such as Business Statistics, Tools & Methods in Analytics, Applied Analytics, Data Visualization, Predictive Modeling, and Big Data Analytics as well as additional related courses. Strong interest in developing new coursework, interacting with the business community, and engaging with active recruitment efforts alongside the Director of Graduate Admissions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Related terminal degree required. M.B.A. or Master’s degree in Analytics or related field will be considered if the applicant has substantial industry analytics experience. College-level teaching experience preferred.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with qualifications, education and experience. THE NOONAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS: The Noonan School of Business was formed in 2017, through the generous donation of an anonymous donor and the School is named for Francis (Frank) J. Noonan, a longtime and dedicated faculty member who served the College for 43 years. The School of Business is comprised of 17 full-time faculty, approximately 4 adjuncts, and home to the most majors on campus. Current major offerings include Accounting, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing and Sport Management with various related minors included.

THE COMMUNITY: Loras College’s 60-acre campus is located on one of Dubuque’s highest bluffs, overlooking the Mississippi River at the junction of the states of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin, about 3 hours west of Chicago. Dubuque’s population is approximately 60,000 and its nineteenth century architecture is woven into limestone bluffs and provides a picturesque backdrop to the river landscape. Many residential and commercial areas have been designated as historical districts to preserve Dubuque’s unique heritage. Its strong education base supports numerous cultural activities, and in addition, there are sporting events, shopping facilities, schools, and churches that are convenient to its residents. The climate has marked seasons with a comfortable summer, cool spring and fall, and a winter that encourages a variety of sports that have in recent years attracted a growing tourism industry.
