Position Summary:

The Assistant Registrar for Reporting and Eligibility reports to and serves as a deputy and advisor to the area's Associate Registrar . The incumbent will be a self-assured, congenial, and productive member of the Office of the Registrar's Leadership Team. As an innovative and contributing member of this team, the incumbent will assist in the establishment of the strategic short- and long-term direction of the office that enables the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Office of the Registrar to become an institutional resource with acknowledged credibility as a highly productive and collaborative partner with campus constituencies as well as a national model known for creativity, innovation, and service.

Working independently to manage the data reporting and athletic academic eligibility team in the Office the Registrar, the Assistant Registrar will collaborate with the area's Associate Registrar, the Assistant Registrar for Degree Audit and Academic Programs, and the Assistant Registrar for Curricular Services to oversee the strategic direction and operational objectives of this operational area.

The incumbent must demonstrate a passion and commitment for exploring and implementing strategies that contribute to the sustained development of Office of the Registrar staff. The ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships with on- and off-campus partners to continually enhance the student experience and support the teaching and learning mission of the institution is critical.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

-Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in higher education required, preferably in a registrar, data reporting, or athletic eligibility setting.
-Comfort and ability exercising professional judgment in high-stakes decisions.
-Experience in querying, compiling, distilling, and formatting data for dissemination to a wide range of audiences.
-Experience interpreting policy, legislation, and/or complex rules and regulations.
-Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
-Experience in strategic planning, task prioritization and resource management.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
-Demonstrated leadership and initiative developing innovative solutions.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of work.
-Ability to lead groups to successful achievement of goals and objectives.
-Familiarity with academic certification of student athletes (preferred).
-Familiarity with student and curricular data in data warehouses, student information systems (preferably Oracle/PeopleSoft), degree audit systems (preferably CollegeSource/uAchieve), and/or related systems.
