Position Summary:

The CES position is designed for a creative, enthusiastic individual able to represent the Collaborative Center for Health Equity (CCHE) in community settings and prepare audiences for making informed decisions about participation in research including the All of Us Research Program. The CES will utilize local community knowledge and practice-based evidence to inform responsible outreach activities designed to grow partnerships with diverse Dane County residents and the agencies who serve them. The CES will also provide leadership and support to establishing community-based settings where health equity and health promotion exchange can occur in coordinated way.

Ability to work some nights and weekend events, as needed, is necessary. Travel to multiple locations in Dane County and southeast Wisconsin is required. Incumbent must provide own transportation that meets UW-Madison Risk Management standards for which mileage traveled will be reimbursed through project resources at the current state level.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in health sciences, public health or related field such as health education/promotion, administration, social sciences, policy/planning, or in community/organizational development.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of experience working with and developing strong partnerships with people of color, agencies serving people of color and other diverse stakeholders seeking to establish community-academic partnerships including community-academic research partnerships and partnerships focused on addressing health and wellness priorities identified by community partners.

REQUIRED
-Ability to navigate community settings and networks, and ability to communicate about community assets, priorities and needs to diverse academic audiences (researchers, research staff, staff in research support offices) and community partners (lay public, corporate health partners, advocacy organizations).
-Prior experience working with local healthy living and/or community coalitions and working on public health projects with academic health partners is required.
-Ability to manage, work on, and track multiple projects simultaneously.
-Demonstrated skills in facilitating groups, establishing and maintaining working relationships and partnerships with individuals and groups of diverse interests in order to achieve consensus.
-Experience developing and delivering trainings, workshops, and other learning sessions.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to work independently and effectively under general supervision.
-Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement projects that require multidisciplinary expertise.
-Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

PREFERRED
-Strong understanding of and experience working effectively with communities of color.
-Understanding of health-related disparities among communities of color.
-Knowledge of public health and social determinants of health.
-Knowledge of/experience in evaluating programs to determine if they are reaching their objectives and goals.

Additional Information:

This is a fixed term terminal 1 year appointment. There is a possibility the position would be converted to renewable position depending on need and funding.

Prefix assignment determined by years of relevant work experience.

A minimum of 7 years' experience is required for appointment at the senior level.
