The School of Information Studies seeks a part-time Instructor to teach IDS302/403: Idea2Startup meets with Startup Sandbox, during the spring 2021 semester’

Course description:
Students establish an actionable plan for the launch of their own business. Focus on establishing a well-conceived, achievable and actionable path to market. Startup Sandbox students work with mentors and coaches to develop and deploy a for-profit or non-profit venture. This cross-campus course with an emphasis on entrepreneurship in technology has launched several multi-million dollar ventures over the past 15 years. It is part of the Syracuse University signature and award winning program in entrepreneurship. We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable instructor who is well-connected with entrepreneurship and venture formation in Upstate New York, the USA, and internationally.

Qualifications

Masters degree in a related field. Teaching experience at the college level.

Job Specific Qualifications

Experience in in-person and online teaching. Developing and executing a course. Preparation for lectures. Maintaining regular office hours. Presenting instruction related to the outcomes of this course. Scheduling guest speakers related to course content.

Responsibilities

Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the undergraduate program director.

Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports, assignment grades, and final grades according to University regulations.

Grading student deliverables in a timely manner.

Building a positive rapport with students and faculty in the iSchool.
