The University of Houston’s College of Optometry seeks outstanding optometrists in the area of Primary Care to join the Clinical Sciences Department. Areas of expertise should include primary eyecare, ocular and systemic disease management, evidence-based clinical practice, interprofessional/ collaborative practice, community and public health.

Successful candidates will provide clinical education and patient care, and must be eligible for optometric licensure in the state of Texas. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate leadership in teaching, clinical practice, and scholarship related to patient care, clinical outcomes, community/ public health, clinical education, or other areas of applied clincal sciences.

Qualifications :

This is an open-rank, clinical non-tenure track faculty position. The successful applicant must have an OD degree and completed a residency/fellowship program or have equivalent relevant clinical, academic, or other experience. Applicants should have experience with clinical teaching and mentoring. Demonstrated interest in providing care within community based clinics, and experience with healthcare delivery models within these settings is preferred.
