The University of Houston’s College of Optometry seeks outstanding clinical faculty members in the area of Pediatrics, Binocular Vision, and Strabismus to join the Clinical Sciences Department. Areas of expertise should include primary eyecare for pediatric patients, the management of sensory and perceptual disorders related to visual development, or anomalies of binocular vision for children and adults.

Competitive applicants will have experience with evidence-based clinical practice, and interprofessional/ collaborative practice. Candidates are expected to provide clinical education and patient care and must be eligible for optometric licensure in the state of Texas. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate leadership in teaching, clinical practice, and scholarship related to patient care, clinical outcomes, community/ public health, clinical education, or other areas of applied clinical sciences.

Qualifications :

This is an open-rank, clinical non-tenure track faculty position. The successful applicant must have an OD degree and completed a residency/fellowship program or have equivalent relevant clinical, academic, or other experience. Applicants should have experience with clinical teaching, mentoring, and providing patient care within community-based clinics. Experience with healthcare delivery in community-care clinical settings is preferred.
