POSITION DESCRIPTION: The School of Health Administration at Texas State University, a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor. This is a full-time position with a nine-month academic year appointment beginning in the fall of 2021, with possible summer employment. All positions are subject to availability of funds.

 

Job Location:  San Marcos. TX

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates will have an earned doctorate and masters, one of which must be in healthcare administration or closely related field from a CAHME, AACSB or CePH accredited program.

Appointment to the assistant professor rank (less than five years teaching) requires a publication history, established research agenda, and a strong commitment to teaching.

Appointment to the associate professor rank (minimum 5 years teaching) requires an established research publication and external funding record, demonstrated teaching excellence, and service leadership accomplishments.

Appointment to the professor rank (minimum ten years teaching) requires an extensive research publication and external funding record, demonstrated and sustained teaching excellence, and major service leadership accomplishments both in an academic setting as well as the profession.

The eligible candidate will receive the appropriate rank based on university and school standards.

Preferred Qualifications:  Preference will be given to candidates who have board certification in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and/or Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

Experience in academic program administration.
