Core Faculty, Master of Arts in Psychology Program
The rapidly increasing student enrollment in the MA in Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles has led to the creation of four new core faculty positions. All applications in response to this announcement will be considered for these four positions.

Antioch University Los Angeles (AULA) offers a unique and dynamic education in a diverse and vibrant urban setting. The Los Angeles campus serves 1100 students and has an undergraduate degree completion program and five graduate degree programs. The largest of these programs is the MA in Psychology program which prepares students for the state licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as the Professional Clinical Counselor license.
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology Program (MAP) at Antioch University Los Angeles is searching for four full-time Core Faculty positions to teach in the Master of Arts in Psychology Department.
Positions will remain open until all are filled. Each position requires teaching 24 quarter units during a 9-month contract year, student advisement, and participation in faculty meetings. It also will involve program development, curriculum development, as well as other assigned duties. MA Psychology core faculty report to the Chair of the MA in Psychology Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core faculty members have responsibility in all four areas of faculty engagement including student learning, scholarship, service, and institutional citizenship. This includes the required 6 to 9 teaching units each quarter. The percentage of time devoted to each area varies with unit needs, and individual skills and capacities.
The quarter may include some evening/Saturday/satellite campus teaching as well as online course delivery. Student advisement requires the review of student academic progress and involves knowledge of Antioch policies. In addition, core faculty hold office hours; review student academic records; and provide timely responsiveness to students by email and telephone.
The Faculty member will be asked to serve on campus committees and is expected to participate in the work of the faculty, including developing the MAP curriculum and ensuring the quality of the curriculum and faculty for program requirements and specializations.
The faculty member performs other duties as may be assigned by the Chair as appropriate to the position.
QUALIFICATIONS: An earned doctorate in Clinical or Counseling psychology or terminal degree in related field from regionally accredited institution is required.
Additional qualifications include:
- A demonstrated record of successful teaching experience at the graduate level.
- Demonstrated commitment to socio-cultural diversity and social justice.
- Academic background and experience in any of the following—LGBTQ studies, trauma studies, child studies, community psychology, addiction and recovery studies, critical race and gender studies, multicultural psychology, Latinx Studies, Black Studies, depth psychology, mindfulness studies, liberation psychology, eco-psychology, somatic psychology.
- Significant record of publication and/or relevant clinical or community professional experience related to relevant program curriculum.
- MFT, LPCC, APA, or LCSW clinical licensure or license-eligible.
- Administrative and program development experience are a plus.
- Multilingualism is a plus. Spanish language preferable.
