Research Support Supervisor

Summary

Research Support Supervisor needed to manage the Arenkiel lab. This includes managing the ordering and receiving for the lab, taking care of equipment needs and handling a research project. The qualified candidate needs to have great attention to detail and be very organized. This position will also supervise graduate students.

Job Purpose

Provides support to research laboratory for supply maintenance, equipment maintenance and grant proposals.

Job Duties

• Supervises supply ordering and material management for multiple laboratories.
• Responsible for general laboratory operations including equipment maintenance, maintenance agreements, and purchasing.
• Assists in preparation and submission of faculty research grants to major funding bodies (NIH, AHA< DOD, and NSF), and assists postdoctoral fellows on individual grant applications.
• Assists in preparation and submission of research manuscripts and protocols.
• Orders, maintains and supervises disposal of radioactivity inventory.
• Monitors grant accounts and supervises expenses relative to budget.
• Drafts and coordinates travel schedules and itineraries. Manages travel schedules, costs and reimbursement.
• Provides administrative and advanced secretarial support to laboratory students, staff and faculty.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Must have strong organizational and social skills to effectively interface with both laboratory personnel and PI.
