Position Summary:

Teach one section of Design Studies 226 (cross-listed with Art 226), Textile Design: Off-Loom Construction in Spring 2021. The course will be taught online Tuesday/Thursday 1:45-4:15

This course covers studio design problems in two and three dimensional off-loom constructions; off-loom weaving, looping, and knotting; historical reference and contemporary application.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Master's of Fine Arts in textile or closely related field

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Preferred Qualifications:
- At least two years of successful teaching experience at the college level
- A record of national exhibitions of work related to off loom processes
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse community
- Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive work environment

Qualified Candidates will have:
-Ability to teach off loom textile construction including weaving, looping, knotting, knitting and crochet..
-Ability to teach students interested in designed objects/garments and artistic expression
-Ability to teach an online or hybrid course in off loom construction at the college level
