The Department of Accountancy and Business Law at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning fall 2021. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and master’s courses in accounting, conducting scholarly research that results in quality peer-reviewed publications, student advising, and service to advance the mission of the department, school, university, and the profession. Upon initial appointment, instructional duties include teaching three courses per semester.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

A doctoral degree in accounting, or a JD / LLM with taxation emphasis, is required.
Candidates must have potential to be excellent teachers, active researchers, and participating members of the university and professional communities.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Applicants with an interest in teaching taxation are most preferred, although highly-qualified applicants with other specialty interests may be considered.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The Department of Accountancy and Business Law serves undergraduate students seeking the Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in accounting and offers a Master of Science in Accountancy ( MSA ) degree that graduates approximately 60 students annually. The department also provides core courses for the Cameron School of Business and MBA programs.
