The College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CPASS) at West Virginia University is recruiting applicants for the position of Director of FiT Publishing and the International Center for Performance Excellence (ICPE). The Director will report directly to the Dean's office and will be responsible for the overall management of FiT Publishing acquisitions and marketing oversight of FiT Publishing's academic textbooks, reference books, trade books, academic journals, and other publishing products, unit budgeting, supervision of the unit's staff, and will travel to and participate in professional association conferences to showcase FiT's publishing products. The donation of FiT Publishing to CPASS also included the development of the ICPE with the goal of internationalizing CPASS. Within this role, the Director will work in conjunction with CPASS administration, faculty, and the WVU community to enhance the internationalization of the ICPE, CPASS and its academic programs in accordance with their strategic plans and serve on the CPASS International Advisory Committee. Qualifications :

Qualifications include at least a Bachelor's degree in business-related disciplines, sport and exercise sciences, communications, or related fields. Applicants must also possess two years of supervisory experience and at least five years of experience working in a publishing environment, preferably relating specifically to academic publishing. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate successful business skills, knowledge of sport science related disciplines, and have excellent writing skills and oral, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills, as well as superior skills in problem solving, organization, persuasion, and time management. The candidate will be expected to have the ability to use data to evaluate the business and make appropriate decisions, be able to develop and cultivate relationships with scholars in the sport and exercise sciences, physical education, and other disciplines and maintain professional business relationships with buyers, distributors, and other vendors utilized in the publishing industry. The candidate should also have demonstrated knowledge of acquisitions and marketing of publishing products. The successful candidate will also be asked to have an active role in assisting to further the internationalization of CPASS.
