The Australian National University

Canberra, Australia

https://www.anu.edu.au/

The Australian National University (ANU) consistently ranks as Australia’s number one university and in the top 25 universities globally. Based in the capital city, ANU is renowned for the quality of its research, the excellence of its teaching, and its ongoing contribution to public policy and public life.

One of its seven academic colleges, the College of Health and Medicine has a tradition of research excellence that has fostered three of its four Nobel Laureates and trains leaders in health and medicine. Over the next ten years the College will grow its physical and academic presence on campus, nationally, and throughout the region through a dedicated strategy and strategic investment. Its mission is to advance the health of nations, achieved by pushing frontiers of knowledge, preparing leaders who make a difference, strengthening and reforming health systems, and building resilient communities within and beyond ANU.

A key enabler in advancing its mission and strategy is the Head of Advancement, a critical position within the College and a senior member of the University’s development team. This person is responsible for building, coordinating, and executing a framework for prioritising and engaging with the University’s prospects and supporters to optimise fundraising and alumni engagement for the College.  A collaborative and visionary leader who can advance a culture of philanthropy to grow the College’s fundraising program to its greatest potential is vital.

The successful candidate will be a sophisticated development professional with an exceptional track record in relationship management and demonstrated success in closing major gifts. Experience in a research-intensive environment and/or healthcare or academic medicine is strongly recommended.
