Saint Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine invites
applications for a full-time (9-month) faculty position in Health
and Wellness Promotion to begin August 2021. Faculty rank and
appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience. The ideal candidate will be able to provide
leadership for the Health and Wellness Promotion program and teach
courses in the Health and Wellness Promotion curriculum, with a
focus on high quality teaching and student engagement. Potential
courses to be taught include Personal Health, Community Health,
Social and Cultural Issues in Health, Community Nutrition, Disease
Prevention, Methods of Teaching Health, Stress Management, Human
Sexuality, Substance Use and Misuse, Health Promotion Programs,
Fitness and Wellness Coaching. Additional responsibilities include
but are not limited to academic advising, service to the college,
assisting in the supervision of off campus and on campus
internships, and scholarship.
The Department of Sport and Exercise Science at Saint Joseph’s College offers Bachelors of Science degrees in Health and Wellness Promotion, Exercise Science, Sport Management, and Physical Education. A Pre-Occupational Therapy track is offered under the Health and Wellness Promotion major. Qualifications:

A master’s degree is required, a doctoral degree is
preferred
Experience in the health and wellness field is
required
Experience in teaching at the college level is
desired
Ability to teach in other disciplines within the Sport
and Exercise Science department is desired
Applicants that have completed their doctoral
requirements will be considered for a tenure track position
