The Department of Computer, Electrical, and Software Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ invites applicants for a non-tenured track, tenured-track or tenured faculty position as assistant or associate professor. Interest and ability to teach undergraduate computer engineering courses and laboratories is essential, and experience with aviation/aerospace applications is highly desirable. Professional and scholarly activities are expected, but quality teaching is the primary responsibility. Many opportunities also exist for inter-departmental teaching and research. Additional responsibilities include recruitment, advising, mentoring undergraduate students, course and program assessment and development, supervising senior design projects, and university/community service. Applicants are also required to possess excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills. A strong command of the English language is also required.

Embry-Riddle is a small, private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona. Faculty/student interaction is highly valued and is a central theme of our campus. The Computer, Electrical, and Software Engineering Department is a part of the College of Engineering that also includes the Departments of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Our fully accredited undergraduate engineering programs place students in aerospace companies and major university graduate schools across the nation.

Prescott is one of the most desirable locations in the Southwest. At 5000 ft. above sea level, it boasts a mild climate, clean air, pristine wilderness areas, and nearby national forests. It is located 100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

Qualifications :

At the time of employment, the successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. An MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent with extensive industry experience is also acceptable. Preferred areas of expertise for this position include embedded systems, computer architecture, network communications, autonomous systems, real-time systems, physical computing, and IoT and secure systems. Significant industrial, entrepreneurial and/or teaching experience would strengthen a candidate's credentials, but recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
