Position Summary:
The Academic Advisor provides and/or facilitates educational leadership, curriculum design instruction and assessment, individual academic and personal needs assessment, academic advising, academic counseling and consulting services, collaborations within and outside of the NOVA project, and administrative duties to support the goal of the NOVA project, which is to retain and graduate NOVA participants at EKU.


Minimum Education:
-Master’s Degree required.
-Preference to Masters Degree in the areas of Student Personnel, Counseling, or Higher Education Administration or Communication field.


Minimum Experience:
One year of college-level experience working with students in an advisory or teaching capacity is required.


Minimum Licensure and Certification:


Qualification Equivalencies:


Desired Qualifications:
•Demonstrates an understanding of academic advising and course instruction.

•Knowledge of theories and best practices in student development, particularly in relation to the retention and the educational challenges facing first-generation and low-income students.

•Ability to use common computer software and data management systems.
