Lecturer Part-Time, Ethnic Studies/Cultural Studies

The School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) at the University of Washington Bothell (UW Bothell) seeks a dynamic educator who is prepared to teach courses in Cultural Studies, American Studies, Critical Ethnic Studies, and Popular Culture and who possess expertise in interdisciplinary pedagogy and portfolio-based teaching.

Successful candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to innovative and effective pedagogy; ability to address questions of diversity, equity and inclusion in courses; and expertise in working with diverse student populations.  We seek a candidate to join our faculty on at least a part-time (50%) basis for a 9-month service period.  Appointments may be 1-5 years, renewable, and are not tenure eligible. The start date is September 16, 2021.

• Ph.D. in relevant field with emphasis in Cultural Studies, Ethnic Studies, American Studies, or Popular Culture or equivalent professional experience required by time of appointment.
• Demonstrated commitment to innovative and effective pedagogy
• Demonstrated ability to teach courses in cultural studies and critical ethnic studies in the context of an interdisciplinary and portfolio-based curriculum.
• Demonstrated ability to address questions of diversity, equity and inclusion in courses and scholarship
• Expertise in working with diverse student populations
