Duties include, but are not limited to: developing a sense of community amongst residents; managing facilities; overseeing administrative processes; advising a community council; facilitating the room change process; serving as a student conduct hearing officer; and mentoring and nurturing students in their academic and personal development through programming, advising, and counseling. There may also be opportunities to participate in and lead committees, teach the FYE course (UNIV 110), and advise student organizations. The Community Coordinator also serves in a 24/7 administrator on-call and support staff rotations-with a minimum response time expectation.

Requirements: A Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Student Affairs, or Higher Education Administration, or related field and experience in student services programs is required. Must have a valid state driver’s license.

Preferences: Student organization advising, response to student behavioral issues including crises, adjudicating student conduct cases, and co-curricular programming based in student development theory experience is preferred. Professional experience in a university or college student housing setting on a college campus, including live-in/live-on duties is preferred. Prior direct supervision of student para-professional staff is preferred. A successful candidate will have strong administrative skills and an ability to develop a community, which promotes academic success and a commitment to social justice.
