Job Description

The Core Facilities Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the Core Services areas within Fralin Life Sciences Institute (FLSI), including personnel management, staffing, training, client services, the laboratory information management system, project management and billing. The manager will be responsible for oversight of vendor and customer relations and developing and presenting information to faculty members to remain current on compliance for laboratory protocols.

Required Qualifications

-MBA or other advanced degree in biological sciences area or bachelor’s degree with extensive significant related experience.
-Experience working in a production laboratory
-Expertise with efficient experiment design and ability to customize experiments for specific needs.
-Experience with budget creation and setting service rates
-Supervisory experience
-Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience working with faculty in an academic setting
-Familiarity with university processes and procedures
