Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Mental Health Services, the Assistant Director, Survivor Services is responsible for providing oversight of the Survivor Services program within Mental Health Services (MHS). The Assistant Director, Survivor Services serves as a member of the Mental Health Services Leadership Team and is a Team Manager within UHS.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Social Worker - Master's degree in social work or related mental health field. Counselor - Master's degree in counseling/clinical or related mental health field. Psychologist - Doctoral degree in Psychology or related mental health field

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Minimum of two years experience in a mental health setting required.
Demonstrated experience in victim advocacy and providing counseling related to trauma required.

Strongly preferred experiences of the candidate include:
1) Experience in a victim advocacy setting;
2) Experience serving college students in a mental health or related setting;
3) Demonstrated leadership experience in a mental health or related setting;
4) Demonstrated leadership in program management and development, including awareness of compliance including Title IX and Clery;
5) Expertise in consultation and collaboration within an interdisciplinary setting;
6) Knowledge of state and federal legal and ethical confidentiality requirements;
7) Demonstrated attentiveness to intersectionality and health disparities;
8) Experience in assessment and brief intervention; and
9) Experience in supervision of trainees and professional staff.

Strongly preferred qualities of the candidate include:
1) Ability to manage and resolve conflict;
2) Strong oral and written skills;
3) Ability to monitor and adjust service delivery flow related to utilization; and
4) Ability to cultivate teamwork and collaboration;

License or Certificate:

**Required by 1/1/2021**
Social Worker - Licensed Social Worker or must be immediately license eligible to practice in the State of Wisconsin. Counselor - Licensed Counselor or must be immediately license eligible to practice in the State of Wisconsin.

**The selected candidate will be expected to complete the UW-Madison Principles of Supervision and Management workshop series within two years of date of hire**

Additional Information:
