Assistant Lecturer (holding the title of School Development Officer) in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 502452) (to commence as soon as possible for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Education, or a Bachelor's degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent, with at least 3 years’ post-qualification work experience in teaching Chinese Language in local primary schools. Experience in developing school-based Chinese curriculum for non-Chinese speaking students is an advantage.
The appointee will be responsible for providing school-based support for primary schools admitting non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students; collaborating with teachers in curriculum development, lesson planning and observation, post-lesson debriefing; developing pedagogical approaches to cater for the learning diversity of NCS students; promoting learning and teaching with assessment data; sharing at teacher professional development activities; conducting data analysis; writing research reports and resource packages; and performing other duties as assigned.
