Job Summary:
To become an energetic and active team member on the Paladin Club staff. This position will be primarily focused on coordinating events, budget reconciliation and managing Paladin Club donor benefits and privileges. In addition, this position will be exposed to the inner workings of a Division I athletics department and will have opportunities to learn many aspects of higher-education development functions and athletics department operations.

This position is a 24-month role that will attract a highly motivated and mature recent Furman graduate that is interested in pursuing a career in non-profit fundraising or college athletics. We are a goal-oriented staff focused on making Furman and Furman Athletics excellent in every way, and we are looking for a like-minded, ambitious colleague to help shape the future of Furman Athletics

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Assist the Director of Athletics Development
  • Assist in budget projections and quarterly reconciliation with Director of Athletics Development.
  • Assist in managing travel, official correspondence and scheduling meetings.


Coordinate Special Events
  • Play key role in organizing all special Paladin Club activities. Events to include: Paladin Club Zone at home football games, Hall of Fame Dinner, Athletics Major Donor Dinner, Spring Athletics Festival, Coaches Tour, Club Level at home football games, Paladin Club Drop-ins for select home basketball games, and special reunion events for championship teams.


Paladin Club Donor Benefits
  • Helps maintain football and basketball parking based on donor level.
  • Works closely with ticketing office to organize and distribute football and basketball season ticket packets that include parking passes.

Director of Athletics Development

Education/Skill Requirements:
  • Recent Furman graduate preferred
  • Knowledge of Furman Athletics
  • Experience in accounting or budget management
  • Ability to provide customer service in a positive and professional manner
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal)
  • Excellent typing and computer skills. Preferred experience with presentation software, Excel, Raiser's Edge and Glitnir
