RESEARCH ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
The Department of Microbiology at the University of Washington in Seattle is conducting a search for a Research Assistant Professor in the field of virology and immunology. The investigator will be able to interact with University of Washington investigators interested in developing strategies to treat and prevent emerging infectious diseases and HIV. The position is a 12-month, full time, non-tenure track position in the School of Medicine. The anticipated start date is Winter 2021.

We are looking for an innovative investigator with regional or national reputation for leading the development of an independent research program on the role of vaccine development and pathogenesis in emerging infectious diseases and HIV. A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience working on rodent and non-human primate pre-clinical models of infectious diseases and expertise in HIV co-infections is required.
Candidates for this position must hold a PhD degree in microbiology or related discipline (or foreign equivalent). An MD or foreign equivalent is also acceptable. Applicants must have a strong record of graduate research and at least three years of postdoctoral experience and publications.
Salary and benefits are competitive and will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
