DESCRIPTION
To identify stakeholders and coordinate a variety of grant programs; to plan, design, and coordinate program activities; and to evaluate the success of the program.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general direction from executive level management. Incumbents work within a framework of established goals and objectives

Incumbents in this classification assign, coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of others.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  1. Implements planning activities to include developing and convening advisory committees; creating recruitment strategies; designing orientation; and marketing the program.
  1. Coordinates with appropriate college programs, personnel and community partners appropriate to the terms of the special project grant, including schools and training programs, public agencies, business and industry.
  1. Interviews, supervises, trains and evaluates staff as required.
  1. Designs program according to the terms of the grant, coordinating with appropriate agencies and individuals.
  1. Publicizes the project and identifies population to be served according to grant terms; designs recruitment procedures where necessary.
  1. Conducts meetings, present workshops and participate in other activities to facilitate program design.
  1. Coordinates the operation of the project, supplying consultation, training activities, support programs; advises participants on all program offerings.
  1. Administers program budget and monitors expenditures.
  1. Conducts meetings and facilitates communication among clients, advisory committees, and other program participants and partners.
  1. Collects and compiles data to demonstrate compliance with specific grant terms and develops recommendations to funder.
  1. Prepares reports and makes presentations at local and state level workshops and conferences.


  1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Focus on student success, service excellence, and willingness to assist colleagues District-wide, as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, social sciences, or a related field. Master's degree in a related field preferred.

Experience

Two (2) years of performing vocational assessment and advising, career development, or job placement services and at least one (1) year of experience in grant operations or managing categorically funded programs. Experience must include at least one (1) year of leadership or supervisory experience.
