What We’re Looking For:

2U partners with elite postsecondary institutions globally to deliver the world’s best digital education through degree programs and short courses. To achieve that goal, this position is responsible for engaging and winning the academic sale for 2U with prospective university faculty and departmental/school leadership. This is accomplished by optimizing curriculum design and financials combined with best practices of digital education and learning theory; facilitating ongoing communication with internal and external leadership; winning the academic vote; staging the implementation process‬‬‬‬‬; conducting internal Brief-In meetings with internal teams; and helping to drive 2U’s Program Strategy function across the Career Curriculum Continuum integrating latest trends and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • External 

Secure - the Right Program

    • Lead conversations related to program structure/curriculum and pedagogy with faculty and other relevant academic stakeholders.
    • As part of the sales process, work with the University Growth team and Portfolio GM’s on new partner education and enhancing partner relationships.
    • Using 2U organizational matrix resources as primary Point of Contact, ensure that school faculty and university stakeholders understand the commitments to be made by the University.
    • Align partner operational assumptions around course build schedule, course offering sequencing, section size, and faculty staffing model.
    • Assist faculty and other appropriate stakeholders in thinking about and meeting both university approval and accreditation requirements.
    • Maintain positive faculty and administrator perceptions regarding 2U and the overall experience in delivering their program online.

Assess - alongside Product Marketing and Program Management

    • Assess and support to Existing University program enhancements as needed
  • Internal

Stage - Implementation

  • Confirm that internal stakeholders understand all university specific procedural hurdles to launch the program.
  • As the sales process progresses, ensure implementation is at a pace necessary to meet planned launch dates.
  • Serve as the conduit between 2U stakeholders and prospective partner.
  • Conduct Internal Leadership Alignment Brief-in meetings with business product line Managing Director and other senior stakeholders.
  • Conduct internal Brief-in meetings with program management.
  • Serve as a team member in driving 2U’s Program Strategy function across the Career Curriculum Continuum.

Things That Must Be in Your Background: 

  • 15+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Graduate degree required
  • Previous business development experience focused on developing relationships with C-level in business and/or Dean/Sr. Faculty level in academia
  • Proven track record for fostering business opportunities resulting in high end sales of multimillion dollar multi-year relationships
