Job Summary/Basic Function:

Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative Vice President, Financial Services and CFO.  This position reports to the President and serves as a member of the senior level leadership team. This position’s duties include:

  • providing advice to the President and other staff on topics related to financial matters and information technology;
  • responsibility for operation of the Business Office supervising and providing assistance to the Director, Business Services;
  • responsibility for Information Technology, including supervising and providing assistance to the Director of Information Technology;
  • responsibility for Facilities, including supervising and providing assistance to the Director of Facilities;
  • coordinates the preparation of the annual budget with the leadership team and budget review committee;
  • coordinates the investments of college funds and reports activity to the Board of Regents;
  • coordinates the investments of foundation funds and maintenance of foundation financial records and reports activity to the Foundation Board of Directors;
  • works with financial advisors on investments of college and foundation funds;
  • provides administrative supervision of internal audit function and preparation of annual financial reports;
  • oversees the College’s partnership with its bookstore vendor; and
  • performs other duties as assigned and supports the college’s student success initiative.
Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • minimum of a Master’s Degree, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field from regionally accredited colleges or universities;
  • two to three years as administrator of financial functions;
  • CPA and financial experience in higher education highly desirable;
  • excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented work habits;
  • strong communication skills (oral and written), including strong human relations skills;
  • demonstrated ability working with culturally diverse populations;
  • other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution; exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration
