Position Summary:

Starting pay is based on experience, with a minimum starting rate of $15.73 per hour. This position works as a member of the perfoming organizations team, with direct and indirect responsibilities.

Under the general supervision of the Academic Department Manager in the Mead Witter School of Music (MWSoM), this position is one of three coordinators that provide primary and/or back-up support to the general operations and activities of the MWSoM, including but not limited to the MWSoM performance ensembles of the UW-Madison Bands, Choral, Orchestra, Jazz Studies, and Opera programs.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

1. Ability to work as a member of a team and direct the work of multiple student employees and/or temporary employees.
2. Prior experience in a musical educational setting and knowledge in repertoire and instrumentation would be helpful.
3. Knowledge of MS Windows operating systems; strong computer skills with extensive familiarity using Microsoft Office (e.., Word, Excel, etc.) or the ability to convert current knowledge of comparable applications to MS applications.
4. Must possess a working knowledge of or be willing to learn design software, a platform to maintain website pages, and to create and maintain databases or surveys.
5. Experience in purchasing, and/or travel policies and procedures preferred.

Additional Information:

1. Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written; demonstrate good public relations skills, and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
2. Ability to work independently; possess excellent organizational, planning, problem solving, and facilitation skills; take responsibility for projects and deadlines; and document and implement procedures is required.
3. Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills are required.
4. Ability to adapt to an ever-changing and dynamic environment, handle multiple tasks the same time, and prioritize on a continuous basis.
5. Must be technologically proficient and able to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and technology and streamline processes and procedures through technology.
