Position Summary:

The La Follette School is highly ranked among graduate degree public policy programs and enjoys a worldwide reputation for research and teaching. Its outreach activities - conferences, symposia, classes, seminars, and programs - bring together policy professionals, academics, students, and government leaders - all under the auspices of the Wisconsin Idea. Working with La Follette School faculty, this position will be responsible for leading the communication of faculty research to a broad audience. This position will develop and disseminate publications to a wide range of internal and external audiences, including faculty research briefs, research-focused publications, annual reports, and summaries for the media, policymakers, and the general public.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

At least three years of professional experience developing written materials for a wide variety of audiences.

Required Skills:
- Exceptional verbal and advanced written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse audiences
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, demonstrate effective time-management and organizational skills, and proactively problem-solve
- Ability to work collaboratively with other La Follette School staff members and campus partners
- Computer literacy with knowledge of a wide range of software, specifically Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Skills:
- Ability to distill and summarize academic research for non-academic audiences
- Experience working with faculty
- Experience working with or for policymakers
