Position Summary:

The La Follette School is highly ranked among graduate degree public policy programs and enjoys a worldwide reputation for research and teaching. Its outreach activities - conferences, symposia, classes, seminars, and programs - bring together policy professionals, academics, students, and government leaders - all under the auspices of the Wisconsin Idea. This position focuses on using various media and communication vehicles to promote faculty research, including an evidence-based social media strategy, a broader array of audience friendly communications (e.g. podcasts, videos), user-friendly website design, and an enhanced, targeted approach to connect faculty to media focused on their area of research.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required Skills:
- Exceptional verbal and advanced written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively with other La Follette School staff members and campus partners
- Computer literacy with knowledge of a wide range of software, specifically Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Skills:
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, demonstrate effective time-management and organizational skills, and proactively problem-solve
- Ability to think strategically and exercise sound judgment to develop media and marketing plans in line with the La Follette School mission
-Experience assessing and utilizing social/alternative media and alternative communication vehicles
-Experience in website management and design
- Experience working with or for policymakers
- Experience working with faculty
