Job Summary/Basic Function
The intent of the practitioner model is to include practicing teaching professionals in our intensive courses in order to provide insight into current policies and practices in their fields. The practitioner should be currently practicing in a field that is related to the course with which they are helping. The practitioner will need to be present in the classroom during each day of the intensive to assist with teaching, group work, or other tasks that the lead faculty assigns.
Minimum Qualifications
Practitioners must have a master’s degree in Education related field, and be currently practicing in the teaching profession (or at least had been practicing within the past five years). Your experience should correspond with the course for which you are being considered to be a practitioner. For example, to assist with our School Counseling intensive, you must be a school counselor, to assist with the Foundations for Educational Leadership
intensive, you must be a school administrator, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with Blackboard, and strong background in
APA formatting.
Work Hours
In the summer and winter, intensives are one week long, and
meet for an 8 hour day (8:30-4:30). Weekend intensives that meet
during the fall and spring meet once a month, Friday night
(5:00-9:00), and all day Saturday (8:30-4:30).
