Job Summary/Basic Function

Online Adjunct Professor position with the School of Behavioral Sciences. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to teaching material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedule, providing detailed feedback, mentoring/challenging students to grow intellectually and spiritually, maintaining contact with students to advise on matters related to academic achievement, attendance, and behavior, and maintaining/reporting grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
Graduate or Doctoral Instruction PhD, EdD, PsyD, DMin, or similar terminal degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in:
• Clinical Mental Health Counseling
• Community Care & Counseling
• Human Services
• Marriage & Family Counseling
• Pastoral Counseling
• Psychology
• School Counseling
• Social Work
• Sociology

Undergraduate Instruction
A master’s degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in:
• Clinical Mental Health Counseling
• Community Care & Counseling
• Human Services
• Marriage & Family Counseling
• Pastoral Counseling
• Psychology
• School Counseling
• Social Work
• Sociology
Or
A master’s degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education, with a minimum of 18 credit hours in one of the disciplines noted above.

Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling Instruction
A PhD or EdD in Counselor Education and Supervision from a program accredited by The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs ( CACREP ).

Social Work Instruction
An MSW from a program accredited by The Council on Social Work Education ( CSWE ); or a BSW from a CSWE accredited program with a PhD or JD.

Other Qualifications
• Organizational skills that facilitate the completion of assignments and tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
• Adequate interpersonal, customer service, and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to convey information.
• Familiarity with of Microsoft Office suite and online Learning Management Systems.
• If applicable, able to obtain and maintain licenses as required by state or accrediting commissions.

Preferred Qualifications

Education
A PhD, EdD, PsyD, DMin, or similar terminal degree AND experience lending to subject matter expertise in:
• Clinical Mental Health Counseling
• Community Care & Counseling
• Human Services
• Marriage & Family Counseling
• Pastoral Counseling
• Psychology
• School Counseling
• Social Work
• Sociology

Other Qualifications
• Demonstrated strengths in teaching at the college level.
• Strong organizational skills that facilitate assignment/task anticipation and completion.
• Superior interpersonal, customer service, and presentation skills required.
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite and online Learning Management Systems.

Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling Instruction
Licensure in counseling ( LPC, NCC ) and ACA Membership.

Social Work Instruction
Two years post-masters ( MSW ) practice experience. Licensure in Social Work ( LSW, LCSW ).

Work Hours

Estimated 5-10 hours per week per course.
