Job Summary/Basic Function
The Liberty University Online School of Engineering seeks an Online Chair, who would assist the Dean in facilitating all college activities and to provide leadership toward achievement of excellence in curriculum and oversight of assessment, accreditation and online faculty.
Three programs are currently offered online, with the BS: Civil Engineering program to pursue ABET accreditation.
Applicants should hold a master’s degree in a field of Engineering, with PE licensure a plus. Those interested should apply online by submitting a completed application. The online applicant site can be accessed by going to https://jobs.liberty.edu. The search committee will begin screening of applicants immediately and will continue to accept applications until the position is filled.
It is expected the Online Chair will reside in Lynchburg, VA and support the vision and mission of online programs Applicants must demonstrate a personal faith in Jesus Christ and help train the next generation of Champions for Christ as per the Liberty University mission. Duties also include maintaining the curriculum, courses of study, and assessment.
The high level activities include:
-Assist the Dean with the management of administrative functions
-Collaborate with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising
-Provide administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management
-Help manage the subordinate faculty, staff, and professionals
-Provide input to strategic decisions
Minimum Qualifications
master’s degree in Engineering or a related field with PE licensure a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience at the university level. Knowledge of assessment and accreditation processes. Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty and students.
