School of Pharmacy funds; managing the Dean’s Office funds, serving

The Associate Dean is a principal advisor to the Dean interpreting

these matters. The Associate Dean coordinates with University
control points and other Associate Deans on issues pertaining to
campus-wide financial planning, transactions and budget issues as
appropriate.
This position works directly with departments and the School’s
organized research unit, the Quantitative Biosciences Institute
(QBI), and provides leadership on financial policy, performance and
operational management. The Associate Dean is also responsible for
providing advice, direction, training, and assistance to all School
of Pharmacy department staff and faculty as needed.
The Associate Dean acts independently to resolve any finance,
operational or management issues and has full authority to approve
expenditures and establish resource commitments. The Associate Dean
has primary oversight and high-level independence for fiscal
responsibility of all financial activities within the School of
Pharmacy, on behalf of all School of Pharmacy departments, and as
the key liaison with the campus.
It is the responsibility of the Associate Dean to build credible
and trusting relationships with all internal personnel and external
constituents and affiliated institutions, and manage conflicts
among the faculty, the campus, and external entities. As the
