Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Disability Services Coordinator position responsibilities are approximately split between facilitating and assessing strategic programming and providing direct services for students, as assigned by the Director of Disability Services. The Coordinator assists with the implementation of accommodations and services across all campus locations under the mandates of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended) and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (as amended). The Coordinator develops and manages policies and projects related to strategic initiatives. Specific responsibilities vary based on departmental priority, but may include: mental health initiatives, strategic planning and program review, virtual service optimization, grant writing and budget, staff supervision, outreach, disability awareness programming, professional development, and campus collaboration for improved accessibility and retention.

A successful candidate must have a high level of energy and professionalism, the ability to engage students and staff, and skills to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

The Coordinator must be willing to engage with individuals at all campus locations and in the community with a non-standard work schedule requires that requires adaptability and flexibility - face-to-face and remote work, Monday-Friday, some Evening/Weekend hours, and professional travel (local, regional, national).

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.

2 years experience that includes the following: working with high school or college students, experience with individuals with disabilities, program development and/or management.

Computer literacy (Microsoft Windows based software).

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Social/Behavioral Science, or related field.

Budget management and supervisory experience.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to supervise others.

Knowledge of and experience interpreting and applying legal and educational policy.

Familiarity with confidential data management.

Experience with program review and assessment of student learning outcomes.
