ERP Analyst IV - Florida State University 

This is a senior level functional analyst position providing guidance and leadership in analysis, support and maintenance of ERP financial modules and third-party integrations related to procure-to-pay, travel, inventory, maintenance management, cost accounting and associated reporting processes.  The person in this position will also serve as a liaison for any related Campus Solutions, HR, or other third-party system activities, and support change management and project management activities.

Responsible for the research and analysis of issues, and for aiding, guiding and training lower level functional analysts in support of multiple modules within the ERP financials system and third-party integrations associated with procure-to-pay, travel/expense, and inventory/maintenance management, and cost accounting processes.  Ensures timely monitoring and updates of issues in ticketing system(s). Escalates issues to FSU’s development team, vendor customer service and/or other user groups as appropriate to ensure timely resolution. Follows established procedures for testing and migration of fixes. Responsible for ensuring clear and sufficient documentation of issues and resolutions.

Analyzes requests for configuration changes, modifications, enhancements and/or workarounds as necessary. Ensures requests are made & approved through appropriate channels. Analyzes costs/benefits of proposed changes to determine most appropriate action. Works with home teams to develop functional specifications.  Manages projects as assigned to ensure objectives and timelines are met. Supports change management initiatives and activities.

Contributes to improvements and enhancements of FSU’s financial system to include the following: working proactively with FSU functional owners to address opportunities for increased efficiencies; providing solutions for recurring issues; proactively reviewing product functionality and new release information to determine implications for FSU; working with functional owners and technical support to develop specifications for enhancements; working with vendors, user and product advisory groups on future development efforts to ensure FSU’s needs are met.

Develops and conducts testing to ensure FSU financial system supports FSU’s business processes. This includes the following: working with functional owners to obtain knowledge and understanding of University business processes; developing and modifying test scripts and scenarios to determine the system’s ability to support business processes.

Supports reporting and information needs to include the following: ensuring requests are made through the appropriate channels; analyzing to determine the most appropriate reporting tool; following established procedures for testing and migration; providing clear and sufficient report documentation.

Supports training needs and assists with the development of job aids and other training materials related to configuration changes, enhancements, and other system changes.

Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management.  Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and one year experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to nine years.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to interface business applications with other systems.
  • Ability to identify complex problems related to the ERP financial modules and weigh costs, benefits, and overall effects of potential solutions, including modifications.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, budgeting, and administrative management.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal control systems.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop alternatives as needed.
