Coordinator of School Leadership Programs – Tenure-Track

 

Baldwin Wallace University seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure track position as the Coordinator of School Leadership Programs in the Department of Education beginning July 2021. The position provides oversight and leadership for the Principal and Superintendent preparation programs and includes teaching coursework during the 9-month academic year. Baldwin Wallace is a teaching first institution, with a 21-credit hour load per year.

 

We are seeking candidates with a passion for and commitment to the field of School Leadership. The candidate will join a community of equally committed teacher-scholars who see his/her role in preparing the next generation of principals and superintendents as both a privilege and a tremendous responsibility. The Coordinator will provide oversight for the curriculum offerings in the Superintendent and Principal preparation programs as well as oversee the course scheduling and assignment of faculty. The Coordinator will recruit and assist in the hiring of adjunct school leadership faculty for teaching, facilitate their orientation, and monitor feedback. The candidate for this position is expected to work closely with the Data Coordinator to complete all internal and external reporting documents including all accreditation (CAEP) and state (ODHE/ODE) reports as well as stay current with professional issues in school leadership. It is the responsibility of the Coordinator to facilitate the placements and supervision for internships. The Coordinator is responsible for monitoring candidate eligibility and address any issues as warranted throughout their enrollment. The Coordinator will participate in the recruitment and retention of school leadership candidates. The Coordinator will maintain current school partnerships serving as the contact person for each and develop new partnerships as needed.

 

A terminal degree and a minimum of five years of K-12 leadership (Principal/Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent) experience is required. It is expected that the candidate will have familiarity with content and delivery of all school leadership programs at BW and the administration of school leadership internships. The candidate must have an understanding of the State of Ohio principal and superintendent standards and CAEP national standards as well as current knowledge of best practice in school leadership preparation. Higher education teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred along with current superintendent and principal licenses. Technology integration skills and an ability to teach effectively in an on-line environment is also preferred.
