Qualified candidates will hold a terminal degree (M.F.A., MME, D.M.A., or Ph.D.) in an appropriate musical theatre, theatre, or music discipline, and have demonstrated academic and professional experience, with significant achievement as a voice teacher, performer, or music director. Thorough knowledge of musical theatre history and repertoire, understanding of current trends in musical theatre, ability to apply musical theatre vocal pedagogy are a must, and strong piano skills are desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching and be skilled in methods of engaged learning and the use of instructional technology. Additionally, evidence of and experience in promoting diversity and equity in theatre education and production are highly desirable.

Duties of this tenure-track position will include some combination of teaching applied voice, beginning acting, musical theatre audition, musical theatre scene study, and musical theatre history, as well as serving as musical director for at least one mainstage musical per year. In addition, faculty are expected to maintain an appropriate scholarly and/or creative agenda and to participate effectively in advising, recruiting, committee work, and other activities that support FSC's teaching and learning community.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled, but only applications received by November 30, 2020, can be assured full consideration. A complete application consists of a cover letter, curriculum vitae, contact information for three professional references, and copies of graduate transcripts.
