Overview

The mission of Princeton University Department of Athletics is to strive for excellence in academics and athletics, while embracing equity in opportunity, good sportsmanship, and ethical conduct. In keeping with this mission, the role of the Assistant Coach of Women's Volleyball is to provide a quality varsity program that will challenge and develop the physical, mental and personal abilities of student-athletes of a Division I program.



Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head Coach of Women's Volleyball, the responsibilities of the Assistant Coach of Women's Volleyball at Princeton University include, but are not limited to the following:

COACHING

    Team preparation – Assist in the preparation necessary to compete at the Division I level. Drill and attack balls at defenders during practices and matches with accuracy and at the appropriate MPH's/speed to simulate the opponents attack. Training – Assist the head coach with the planning and execution of all training sessions. Scouting Reports – Compile scouting reports for every opponent and deliver pre-match scouting report to team prior to match. Team Synergy – Incumbent must help to foster cross-team connection and family feel of both men's and women's volleyball teams building on the great 40 year tradition.

RECRUITING

    Assist in all aspects of planning and directing the recruitment of top volleyball ranked student-athletes of high moral character who demonstrate the desire to excel in academics and athletics. Including, but not limited to, attending primary evaluation sites to identify talent, travel to contests/tournaments to evaluate prospects, and making home visits to talk to top prospects and parents. All while maintaining compliance with NCAA and IVY LEAGUE legislation. Pass the NCAA Certification Exam each year before the academic year begins.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

    Administrative Responsibilities – Incumbent will be responsible for a wide variety of administrative tasks including but not limited to the production and maintenance of annual reports, CARA Forms, recruiting logs, calendars, rosters and other various reports for NCAA and IVY-League compliance related issues. Video – Oversee the conference video share program and timetable.

OTHER DUTIES

    Community Service – The incumbent is expected to participate in community relations' activities both as an individual and with the athletes as a team effort to promote the sport of women's volleyball. Adhere to Ivy League, ECAC and NCAA rules and regulations. Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and coaches. Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff and alumni. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree Experience coaching at the collegiate level. Commitment to Department of Athletics mission of Education Through Athletics and the values that define what it means to Be A TIGER. An understanding of the fundamental role that intercollegiate athletics, properly implemented, can play in the educational development of our student-athletes. Previous recruiting experience. Collegiate Women's Volleyball experience. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent computer skills. First Aid, AED, and CPR certification within four months of hire.
