The Dell Medical School of The University of Texas at Austin, in conjunction with Seton Healthcare Family, is seeking an exceptional leader to join the Department of Women's Health as Associate Professor / Professor and Division Director, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

The Dell Medical School accepted its first class of 50 students in 2016, with the explicit aim of creating a vital, inclusive health ecosystem. As part of The University of Texas at Austin, one of the nation's leading research universities, the Dell Medical School will pursue innovation in the redesign of healthcare delivery, excellence in healthcare research, and programs in interdisciplinary and interprofessional education. It is the fifth medical school in the UT System and the first medical school established in nearly five decades by a member of the Association of American Universities, an organization of leading public and private research universities. An extraordinary commitment of resources, both public and private, has already been made to enable the development and success of the Dell Medical School. The School is partnering closely with the community and regional healthcare providers and payers to provide new models for health promotion, healthcare delivery, and clinical care for the community's underserved population.

The Department of Women's Health encompasses the full range of subspecialties including specialists in Academic General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology, Pediatric Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

The Associate Professor / Professor and Division Director, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery will lead the newly formed Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Women's Health and the expansion of services across the care network. They will build collaborative partnership models across disciplines with community physicians to ensure the provision of comprehensive, multi-disciplinary uro-gynecologic care. The care delivery platform will serve to educate the next generation of leaders in gynecologic care and to contribute to investigation and discovery in the area of urogynecology.

Specific job responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery
  • Establishing and monitoring the academic priorities of the Division
  • Leading the design and development of value-based urogynecologic care
  • Developing and implementing a robust outreach strategy for urogynecology services across the care network
  • Fostering care integration across the community and within hospital facilities
  • Developing new cross-continuum, multidisciplinary care pathways for priority areas based on best-available clinical evidence, including referral guidelines for primary care providers and management guidelines for post-acute providers
  • Development of divisional research portfolio; resources available
  • Creation of care guidelines and best practices for urogynecology for the Department of Women's Health where national guidelines do not currently exist
  • Participation with the American Urogynecologic Society in the development and dissemination of national care guidelines and best practices
  • Ensuring the incorporation of relevant registries and patient-reported outcomes into clinical workflows for the purposes of measuring clinical quality
  • Developing partnerships with referring physicians, hospitals, and post-acute providers in Austin and Central Texas
  • Training and mentoring medical students, residents and fellows on new models of care and clinical practice
  • Demonstrating a high level of engagement with the ACGME-approved FPMRS fellowship program
  • Collaborating with other schools at the University of Texas at Austin and across the University of Texas system on multidisciplinary, value-based care models

Qualifications

Required qualifications:
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery
  • Eligible for appointment as an Associate Professor / Professor
  • Record of leadership and achievement in academic medicine
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity


Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with value-based care delivery and integrated practice models
