The Division of Pharmacotherapy at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Ambulatory Care clinical faculty member. Rank and salary will be commensurae with the candidate's level of experience. This position is located in San Antonio, Texas and will be co-funded by University Health System, with a practice site at one of the clinics within the University Health System in San Antonio, Texas. Additionally, pharmacotherapy division faculty are jointly appointed to UT Health San Antonio School of Medicine.

The successful applicant will lecture, facilitate practice laboratories, and supervise clinical clerkships for students in the Pharm.D. program. Clinical service that supports resident and Pharm.D. student education and the mission of University Health System is expected, and faculty members will be expected to provide service to the college, hospital, university, and broader professional community. The primary focus of this position is to provide medication therapy management for patients with chronic diseases in the ambulatory care setting, particularly for patients who are on multiple medications and whose disease processes are not well controlled, and patients who utilize the Emergency Department or are frequently hospitalized for their chronic diseases. The expectation over time is to develop clinical practice agreements with the providers of the clinic to allow for chronic disease state management services. The faculty member will be expected to supervise pharmacy students and residents to help them learn to care for patients with acute and chronic conditions. The successful individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with tenure track and non-tenure-track faculty on research and scholarship.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an earned Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy, be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas, have successfully completed a specialty practice residency or equivalent experience by the start date (September 1, 2020), and be able to demonstrate effective teaching.
