Overview
Employment Status: One temporary, benefitted “non exempt” position through June 30, 2021; (Likely to be renewed annually based upon available funding, availability of work, and satisfactory job performance).

Location: The City of Indio.

Salary: $3,397.00 to $5,661.00 per month, depending upon experience and education.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week. Generally, Monday through Friday, 8:45 am to 5:15 pm; some evenings and weekends will be required.

First Review Deadline: The initial review of applications will begin on November 2, 2020.

Typical Activities
Under the general supervision of the Center Manager, the incumbent will work closely with staff to provide client programs, services, and daily administrative tasks.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for managing a caseload that includes intake for new clients, monitoring client compliance, documenting client progress and activity, and reporting program violations.
  • The incumbent will orient new clients to program requirements and use assessment tools to determine client risk and needs to develop a comprehensive case management plan.
  • The casework supervisor oversees the casework functions of the center, including auditing case files, ensuring procedures are followed, and arranging for the training of casework staff. (This position does not involve supervision of staff.)
  • The incumbent may also be required to provide receptionist and clerical duties, as well as providing general customer service.
Additional duties include but are not limited to:
  • file, prepare charts and perform data entry as assigned;
  • participate in special team projects to collect data to help improve center programs;
  • participate in special trainings as assigned; assist in facilitating orientation meetings to explain program rules and regulations;
  • facilitate learning groups each week; participate in community networking opportunities, collaborate with subcontractors and other community members in regards to service provisions;
  • assist in the scheduling of services and classes offered at the Center;
  • participate in weekly team meetings and provide case presentations;
  • assist with overseeing the functions of the Center in the absence of Center Manager; perform all other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants must possess a BA or BS degree from a granting institution accredited by the WASC or equivalent in the Social Sciences or a related field; and a minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising casework staff, or a high school diploma, or its equivalent and a minimum six (6) cumulative years of full-time experience as a journey-level counselor in a program serving the criminal justice population.
  • Applicants must be self-starters and have the ability to work both independently and as team members.
  • Applicants must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with employers, staff, and students.
  • Applicants must possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information along with the ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups of people.
  • Applicants must possess a working knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, to be able to write clear and concise reports and express ideas and recommendations orally.
  • Applicants must have proficiency in using standard office software such as Microsoft, Word, Excel, Access, email, and internet programs.
