Position Description
The Department of Computer Science at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for a Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Academic Year) with the appointment starting in Fall 2021.

The Computer Science Department
The department offers a B.S. degree program in Computer Science (accredited by ABET), a M.S. degree program in Computer Science, a B.S. degree program in Information Technology, a B.A. degree program in Computer Technology, and a M.S. degree in Cyber Security. The department has a total of over 800 majors, and receives strong support from campus administrators, local industry, and national agents.

The Position
An assistant professor at the computer science department of CSUDH is to 1) teach various undergraduate and graduate courses offered by the programs on computer science, information technology, computer technology, and cybersecurity, 2) research on related topics to those programs, and 3) advise students and engage in services at department, college, university, and the system levels.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the tenure-track position include teaching, research, and service. Teaching duties may consist of day, evening, and weekend hours. Additional responsibilities include research and service consistent with the mission of the University, the College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences, and the Department of Computer Science. Published research in support of this goal is expected and is a requirement for tenure and promotion.

Employment Requirement - Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

The US Equivalency certification is used to validate foreign studies from an academic credential evaluation agency and is evaluated on foreign studies and deemed to be equivalent to degrees from the United States. The certification must translate the information in English, and confirm that your highest terminal degree is US Equivalent to a US terminal degree (i.e., Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate's, Doctor's of Philosophy).
