Macau University of Science and Technology Library, the literature resources and services center of MUST, supports academic services for the University. With the rapid development of information technology, the library is constantly improving its resource categories, service modes, service concepts and technical approaches. By deepening services quality, strengthening techniques, innovating professions through the new technological environment, the library caters the needs of academic services for the University and fulfills its supporting responsibilities.

MUST Library currently holds a total amount of collection of more than 7.8 million pieces, which include 1.6 million books (include e-books), 70,000 journals, 1.8 thousand newspapers, 6 million digital dissertations, more than 200 electronic databases, and 8 thousand multimedia resources. MUST Library is committed to the development of collections and building resource sharing relationships with various libraries in great China. The National Library of China, Peking University Library, China Academic Humanities and Social Sciences Library (CASHL), China Academic Library and Information System (CALIS), China Academic Digital Associative Library(CADAL), The Chinese University of Hong Kong Libraries, National Taiwan University Library and many other libraries.

Main responsibility

Under the leadership of the University Librarian, be directly responsible to the University Librarian and assists the University Librarian in completing various duties of the library.

Qualifications

-A PhD degree or above in Library and/or Informatics;

-At least 6 years’ working experience in library administration and have served as Department Director, Associate Librarian or University Librarian;

-Possess comprehensive professional knowledge, good coordination and communication skills, research capabilities, and a certain amount of academic achievements;

-Familiar with the operating procedures of managing a comprehensive university library. Understanding the business characteristics of the comprehensive university library;

-Familiar with the operation mode and development status of the Library Consortia. Having experience in four districts of cross-straits and international cooperation;

-Good communication and writing skills in English and Chinese.

Remuneration

The remuneration will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s academic qualification, professional experience and current position. The candidate shall be entitled to free housing, medical benefits, annual leave, provident fund, other allowance and overseas study opportunities or on job training program provided by the University. Current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
