Job Description

The College of Engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Jasper Department of Chemical Engineering, which was recently established in the Fall of 2019.

We welcome applications from candidates in all areas of Chemical Engineering. Thanks to the generosity of the Jasper family, a seven-figure founding gift is in place for the recruitment of students, faculty, and the establishment of labs. Existing office, laboratory, and classroom spaces as well as other resources have been committed.

Required Qualifications

  • D. in Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students.


Working Conditions

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Exposure to standard office conditions.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
