Assistant Professor of Music (Trombone)
Full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning Fall 2020. Teach applied trombone lessons; ability to teach euphonium and/or tuba also desirable. Additional teaching duties may include music education, theory, history, and/or other courses as determined by departmental needs and candidate expertise. Actively participate in student recruitment, advising, and service activities to the university and to the School of Performing Arts. Maintain a strong agenda of performance and scholarly activities.
Qualifications: D.M.A. or equivalent required (ABD also considered); evidence of significant teaching and performance experience; demonstrated ability to recruit students; excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability and interest working in a collegial and mutually supportive environment.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
