The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia
University’s School of International and Public Affairs seeks a
Staff Associate II (Officer of Research) for a major research
initiative on the food system and climate change. This project aims
to close the current knowledge gaps with respect to food system
greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by characterizing and quantifying
those emissions by country and region, building on available
statistics from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The
Staff Associate II will support original research, work with
research partners, analyze large data sets and communicate research
findings clearly and concisely to a range of audiences in a manner
that maximizes policy impact. The position will engage at a high
level with key stakeholders. A high level of verbal and written
communications, and cultural awareness, skills are required. The
position will report to CGEP Inaugural Fellow David Sandalow.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
(public policy, economics, international affairs, political
science, etc.) and background in food system sustainability
issues.
