Job Purpose

Part time position to assist with experimental and computational analysis of cortical electrophysiological studies of motor cortex in Mice. Must be skilled in advanced multielectrode data acquisition and statistical analysis.

Job Duties
  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results of experiments.
  • Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Will perform neurophysiology experiments.
  • Assist with small animal surgery, monitor brain cell activity with microelectrodes, and assist with histology and imaging of brain tissues.
  • Will assist with experimental design of multielectrode arrays, and help design computer analysis software to analyze experimental data.
  • Will assist with manuscript writing.
  • Will assist in training other laboratory personnel in advanced recording techniques.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.
