Job Summary

The campus president is responsible for providing academic, student development, administrative, and fiscal leadership to a campus in accordance with Tarrant County College District’s strategic direction. The campus president also supports the implementation of the College’s 3 goals and 8 principles by serving as a college-wide subject matter expert on a respective principle(s).

The campus president is committed to the mission of the comprehensive community college and its role in community development by establishing effective and mutually supportive partnerships with business, academic institutions, and communities. The campus president has visionary learning leadership abilities, including excellent organizational and communication skills. The position is a member of the Chancellor’s Executive Cabinet and reports directly to the Chancellor. The campus president works closely with the chancellor, provost, executive/vice chancellors, and other presidents, and will assume other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The president will be charged with the following responsibilities and duties:

Leading and Planning
• Leads the campus in ensuring the campus is student ready by operating in collaboration with other campuses and district administration to serve as one college
• Develops strong partnerships with community stakeholders in support of college programming; understanding and contributing to local efforts in economic development with a commitment to creative activity and public service
• Leads in the coordination of on-campus activities and collaborating closely with the other campus presidents and district administrators
• Leads the campus in the implementation and completion of compliance activities including but not limited to The Higher Education Coordinating Board ( THECB ) mandates, accreditation requirements, and institutional effectiveness planning

Teaching and Learning
• Ensures measurable improvements in student learning and student success within a supportive campus environment as the senior learning leader for the campus.
• Promotes and supports the student-centered concept working collaboratively with campus and college faculty and staff to provide quality teaching and learning
• Commits to a campus culture that encourages and enables faculty to create positive and innovative learning environments
• Provides leadership in ensuring that academic and business processes focus on enhancement of the learning environment
• Promotes and facilitates innovations in teaching and learning, supporting technologies, infrastructures, and learning spaces
• Supports faculty in developing assessment mechanisms that will document learning

Human Resources Management
• Recruits, hires, and supports faculty, administrators, and staff who are committed to learning, being student-ready, and working as one college
• Builds and leads an effective team to fulfill the College’s vision
• Creates developmental opportunities to offer personal/professional growth for campus constituents
• Promotes the establishment of learning connections between full-time and adjunct faculty

Governance
• Serves on or chairing college teams; leading strategic goal initiatives; contributing to planning for technology and facilities
• Participates as a member of the Chancellor’s Executive Cabinet
• Works collaboratively with other campus presidents, faculty leadership (including the presidents of the campuses’ faculty associations, who make up the Joint Consultation Committee), other college leaders, the executive vice chancellor and provost, and the chancellor to ensure a college-wide perspective while considering individual campus needs
• Works collaboratively with faculty and staff in campus planning, development, and policy-making in accordance with the College’s strategic goals and priorities
• Supports the implementation of schedule optimization focused on student needs
• Facilitates the preparation of, providing oversight for, and authorizing the management of the campus and departmental plans and budgets
• Facilitates and supporting the integration of technology into the culture of the campus to enhance the teaching/learning process and student success, recognizing the need for campus-based technology applications within a college-wide technical infrastructure
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Doctorate from a regionally accredited college or university
• Five (5) years of leadership experience appropriate to a senior leadership role in higher education
• Evidence of expertise and experience in teaching and learning, including direct experience in teaching
• Successful record of innovative academic leadership and commitment to the highest standards of academic quality and institutional and personal integrity
• Understanding and experience in requesting and utilizing data from multiple sources to enhance decision making

• Experience working in a multi-campus institution

• Knowledge of and experience with student-related issues
• Experience in applying instructional technologies

• Ability to work collaboratively in teams in the role of either member or leader
• Knowledge of workforce development, including general and technical education as well as skill enhancement programs
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial and innovative skills to identify targets of opportunity for program development and various types of campus partnerships to include public-private and public-public partnerships in support of academic and student affairs programming at the campus
