Job Description/Responsibilities
Lovejoy Library is seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking librarian to support online learning and diverse user experiences. Reporting to the Dean of LIS this position leads the creation and implementation of best practices and guidelines for learning object creation and instruction assessment, including instructional design and accessibility principles as they relate to online learning.   

The Online Learning Librarian will provide leadership and strategies to implement and assess the library’s online learning initiatives. This individual will collaborate with other librarians, teaching faculty, and instructional designers to ensure library integration within the Blackboard LMS and will provide guidance for developing digital content and assessments for the Library’s delivery of information via LibApps. This individual will also collaborate with subject librarians to enhance online information literacy education for first-year, transfer, and non-traditional students. This position has the opportunity to take on subject liaison work in partnership with campus departments.   

 Minimum Qualifications
-Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA accredited institution by the time of appointment; 
-Familiarity and practical experience in the application of the ACRL Framework; 
-Demonstrated knowledge or experience in the following:
     *Creating online learning objects
     *Learning management systems, such as Blackboard
     *LibApps and/or library specific content management systems 
-Experience with instructional technology applications, such as Canva, Camtasia, LibWizard tutorials, and/or Articulate 360; 
-Knowledge of best practices in information literacy pedagogy; 
-Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; 
-Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; 
-Strong initiative and commitment to service, diversity, and inclusion. 

 Preferred Qualifications
-
One-year of experience working in an academic library; 
-Knowledge of current web accessibility standards including how these standards affect web design and patron access; 
-Coursework related to library pedagogical best practices in areas of distance learning and instructional technology; 
-Evidence of project management and organizational skills; 
-Demonstrated success working in cross-departmental teams to manage projects. 

Terms of Appointment
Assistant or Associate Professor, 12-month continuing contract, tenure-track position.

Salary
Minimum of $50,000. Negotiable dependent upon credentials and experience. We welcome early career librarians. Salary is dependent upon post-MLS experience and credentials. Excellent benefits program.
