The Department of Communication at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a full-time (9 month), tenure-track Assistant Professor position in broadcast journalism, starting August 15, 2021. A Ph.D. in broadcast journalism or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment, but ABD candidates near completion of the degree will be considered. All candidates must have experience as television journalists. Applicants should be able to teach with Adobe Premiere, Avid, or Final Cut Pro editing software. Applicants should also be able to teach basic camerawork, using ENG and DSLR cameras, and be familiar with control room operation, including operation of a Tricaster switcher, studio cameras and microphones, audio boards, and prompter software.
